Gain intelligence about who is reading your online content marketing materials and measure document effectiveness.

Philadelphia, PA, January 23, 2010 -- Vuzit LLC, a provider of online document viewing products to help businesses improve access to, maintain control of, and gain intelligence about essential documents, today announced general availability of new real-time document analytics functionality in the Vuzit DocuPub Platform. The document analytics feature in the DocuPub Platform can be leveraged by content marketers who use documents to generate leads and drive website traffic and want to better understand how these documents are actually consumed by their target audiences. Document analytics are also useful to publishers of e-books and other online content to track popular content and provide valuable insights to authors about the effectiveness and readability of their documents.

The ability to track detailed online document reading statistics has been difficult until the arrival of Vuzit’s new offering. Web analytics software vendors, such as Google Analytics, can only capture data on when a PDF file is downloaded from a website. Vuzit tracks 12 different document usage statistics, including document downloads, by individual document, page and user for 40 document types including:

1. Type of document request (i.e. new document or new page)
2. Name of requested document
3. Date document was read
4. Time of day document was read
5. Which pages of the document were navigated
6. How long was each page viewed
7. What zoom levels were used
8. Number of document downloads
9. IP address and geographic location of who requested the document
10. URL of the referring site or web page
11. What browser was used to view the document
12. Custom values (i.e. username)

“The recent economic recession has put a spotlight on using analytics to measure return on marketing investments. Tracking web page visitor traffic only provides a one-dimensional source of data,” said Brent Matzelle, Vuzit’s CEO. According to Matzelle, “integrating multiple sources of data, such as who is reading online documents, how and when, provides a more complete picture of customers and prospects. This allows companies to enhance customer interactions and improve cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.”

Document analytics in the Vuzit DocuPub Platform helps marketers and e-publishers capture the data they are losing about valuable content on their websites, improve marketing investment ROI by understanding who is reading online documents and how, and better promote popular content.

The document analytics feature can be accessed from the web dashboard in a Vuzit DocuPub Platform account. Free, no-obligation trials of the software are available for 60 days by signing up for a DocuPub Platform account from the Pricing page at http://vuzit.com/ signup.
