Auto Body Paint and Collision Repair Expert in Los Angeles Talks about Auto Paint Contamination

During a recent interview, Hernandez explained a condition called auto paint contamination. “There is no way to avoid auto paint contamination,” said Hernandez. “It is caused by tiny metal shavings from brake dust, rail dust and industrial fallout. Rail dust is produced by the friction of a train’s wheels against the tracks; brake dust comes from brake pads rubbing on rotors. Both are transferred to your car as you pass on the highway.”
Since people are keeping their vehicles longer than in the past, they are concerned with maintaining the auto paint surface. Washing the car once a week and waxing every few months helps prevent corrosion and maintain the shine, but over time, one will notice the small, gritty bumps imbedded in the surface.
